I grew up as the eldest son in a family of 4, raised by my mother, who had to scrap for peanuts to fund for us it was a hard task for her, and that made my childhood a nightmare and unbearable, my mother couldn’t afford to take all of us to school from her pocket. If it was not for Rose of Charity and its well wishers who identified my plight, life would have turned out differently for me and my family but l am thankful, because they put me to school and took care of my fees from primary education level to my secondary education, l then enrolled at a culinary school to be a professional chef. Currently l am now working as a chef at the prestigious Elephant Hills Resort and working hard to further my experience and hope to further my level of education, maybe one day l might be fully qualified class one chef and that’s where l am heading. To all those young ones going through what l went through as a kid, my word of encouragement is, they should always keep their heads up and never give up on their dreams ,hopefully well wishers like Rose of Charity still exist and will continue, sooner their opportunity will come and they should grab it by both hands and keep focused on school or any initiative they are under to achieve their goals and become successful and responsible people in the community. Once again l would like to give my appreciation and gratitude to Rose of Charity for shaping me and making me who l am today, a better person ready for the future and all that it has in store for me.
